Narrate शब्द का अंग्रेजी मतलब ‘to say/to state’ होता है जबकि इसका हिन्दी मतलब ‘कहना’ होता है; चलिए बिना देर किए आगे बढ़ते हैं और जानते हैं कि Narration कितने प्रकार के होते हैं –

Rules Of Narration Meaning In Hindi And Its Types

Narration का हिन्दी मतलब ‘कथन’ होता है और इसके दो प्रकार होते हैं; पहला –  Direct speech और दूसरा Indirect speech; चलिए आगे बढ़ते हैं और जानते हैं – direct और indirect speech होता क्या है –

(1) Direct Speech With Examples – जब कोई व्यक्ति किसी वक्ता (speaker) के statement (बात) को ज्यों का त्यों रखता है तो इसे Direct speech कहा जाता है, जैसे – Ravi said me, “He will go to college tomorrow.”

My mother said to me, “You can speak English so fast.”

(2) Indirect Speech With Examples – जब कोई व्यक्ति या श्रोता किसी वक्ता (speaker) के ‘कथन’ मतलब बात को अपने शब्दों या भाषा में कहता, तो वह Indirect speech कहलाता है, जैसे – Ravi told me that he would go to college the next day.

My mother told me that I could speak English so fast.

Narration के Direct speech में दो भाग होते हैं, पहला reporting speech और दूसरा reported speech; चलिए जानते हैं कि reporting और reported speech क्या होता है; और आप इसे कैसे पहचानेंगे –

(1) Reporting Speech – Direct speech का वह भाग जो Inverted commas (“………. “) के बाहर का हिस्सा होता है; उसे हम reporting speech या reporting parts कहते हैं.

reporting speech के verb को reporting verb कहते हैं; subject को reporter और object को reporting object कहा जाता है,

जैसे – He said to me, इस पार्ट को हम reporting part कहते हैं; इसमें आपको reporting subject ‘He’, reporting verb ‘said to’ और reporting object ‘me’ है.

(2) Reported Speech – Direct speech का वह भाग जो Inverted commas (“……. ”) के भीतर रहता है, Reported speech कहलाता है; reported speech के verb को verb of the reported speech कहते हैं; जैसे – I said to him, “He will do this work tomorrow.” इस वाक्य में Inverted commas (“…… ”) के अन्दर वाला वाक्य ‘Reported speech है, जबकि Inverted commas के बाहर वाला वाक्य Reporting speech है.

आप इस बात का ध्यान रखें कि Reporting verb का प्रयोग sentence के पहले, बाद में या बीच में आ सकता है, जैसे – She said to me, “I will do this job.” (Reporting verb ‘said to’ का प्रयोग पहले किया गया है)

“They have watched this movie,” They said to me. (इसमें Reporting verb का प्रयोग बाद में किया गया है)

“He is always happy to go there,” He said to me, ” Because he likes that place.” (यहाँ पर reporting verb का प्रयोग बीच में किया गया है.

Direct speech से Indirect speech में बदलने के लिए आपको यह पता होना चाहिए कि Inverted commas के अन्दर किस तरह के भाव वाले वाक्य का प्रयोग किया गया है; Inverted commas के अन्दर दिए जाने वाले वाक्य को बिना पहचाने Indirect speech में बदलना मुश्किल है; इसलिए आपको sentence के बारे पता होना चाहिए.

Five Kinds Of Sentences For Narration With Examples –

Inverted commas (“…… ”) के अन्दर प्रयोग किए जाने वाले वाक्य 5 प्रकार के होते हैं –

(1) Assertive Sentence (कथनात्मक वाक्य) – इसमें दो प्रकार के वाक्य मिलते हैं – नकारात्मक (Negative) और सकारात्मक (Positive); जैसे –

  • He is not speaking English in the class. (Negative)
  • He is speaking English in the class. (Positive) 

(2) Interrogative Sentence (प्रश्नबोधक वाक्य) – 

इस तरह के वाक्य की शुरुआत सहायक क्रिया (Helping verb) या W.H. word से होती है; नीचे दिए जा रहे वाक्यों को ध्यान से समझें –

  • Have you finished your homework?
  • Did he go to school?
  • Are you trying to speak English?

( इन सभी वाक्यों की शुरुआत सहायक क्रिया ‘Have, Did, Are’ से हुआ है)

  • What are you doing here?
  • Which book do you like?
  • Where has he gone with his father?

(इन सभी वाक्यों की शुरुआत W.H. word मतलब प्रश्नवाचक शब्द से हुआ है)

(3) Imperative Sentence (आज्ञासूचक वाक्य)-

वह वाक्य जिससे आज्ञा, सलाह, प्रार्थना, आदि का भाव निकलता हो तो उसे Imperative Sentence कहते हैं; इस वाक्य में Subject ‘You’ हमेशा छिपा रहता है; जैसे –

  • Switch off the light.
  • Don’t make me laugh.
  • Bring one glass of water.
  • Don’t go there with him.

(सभी वाक्यों को पढ़कर आपको कैसा लग रहा; ऐसा लग रहा है जैसे आप किसी को आज्ञा, सलाह दे रहे हैं – क्यों?)

(4) Optative Sentence (इच्छाबोधक वाक्य) – 

वह वाक्य जिससे इच्छा का भाव निकले; उसे optative sentences कहते हैं, जैसे –

  • May you pass the examination !
  • May you live long !
  • May God bless you !

(5) Exclamatory Sentence (विस्मयादिबोधक वाक्य) – वह वाक्य जिससे मानसिक भावनाओं जैसे – दुख, सुख, आश्चर्य, संदेह, घृणा, प्रशंसा, आशा आदि का भाव निकलता है; उसे exclamatory sentence कहते हैं.

नीचे कुछ वाक्य दिए जा रहे हैं जिन्हें आप ध्यान से समझें –

  • He said, “Alas! I am ruined.”
  • She said, “What a nice film it is!
  • I said, ” What a horrible song!

Change Of Persons – 

जब हम Direct speech को Indirect speech में बदलते हैं; तो‌ Inverted commas (“  ”) के भीतर जितने भी Persons (first, second and third person) रहते हैं, वे SON के अनुसार मतलब Reporting verb के Subject, Object के अनुसार Reported speech के Persons बदलते हैं; 

जब Reported speech में first person pronoun का‌ प्रयोग किया गया हो; तो यह Reporting verb के Subject के अनुसार बदल जाएगा; जैसे –

Direct Speech – He said to me, “I am going to Delhi with my father.” 

Indirect speech – He told me that he was going to Delhi with his father.

(Reported speech के first person “I” और “my” को reporting verb के ‍Subject के अनुसार “He” और “his” में बदल दिया गया है।)

जब Reported speech में Second person pronoun का प्रयोग किया गया‌ हो तो वह reporting verb के object के अनुसार बदल जाएगा; जैसे –

Direct Speech – He said to me, “You are a clever boy.”

Indirect Speech – He told me that I was a clever boy.

(Reported speech के second person pronoun “You” को reporting verb के object “me” के अनुसार “I” में बदल दिया गया है।) 

जब कभी भी Reported speech में third person pronoun का प्रयोग किया जा रहा हो तो इनमें कोई बदलाव‌ नहीं होता है; यह याद रखें।

Change Of Tenses – 

इस बात को आप हमेशा याद रखें; यदि Reporting verb Present या Future Tense में हो तो Indirect speech में Reported Speech के Tense में कोई बदलाव‌ नहीं होता है; अगर Reporting verb Past Tense में हो तो Direct से Indirect Speech बनाते समय Reported speech का Tense इस प्रकार बदल जाएंगे –

  • Present Indefinite – Past indefinite में
  • Present Continuous – Past Continuous Tense में
  • Present Perfect – Past Perfect
  • Present Perfect Continuous – Past Perfect Continuous में बदल जाता‌ है
  • Past Indefinite – Past Perfect Tense में
  • Past Continuous Tense – Past Perfect Continuous Tense में
  • Past Perfect Continuous Tense – No Changing
  • Will – would
  • Will be – would be
  • Will have – would have
  • Can – could
  • May – Might
  • Shall – Should मे बदल जाता है।

  • Direct – Alok said to Raman, “You can do this job.” Indirect – Alok told Raman that he could do that job.
  • Direct – She said to me, “I have no time for you.” Indirect – She told me that she had no time for me.
  • Direct – My friend says to him, “You are not an intelligent student.” Indirect – My friend tells him that he is not an intelligent student.”
  • Direct – Rekha will say to me, “I want to buy an item of gold.” Indirect – Rekha will tell me that she wants to buy an item of gold.”
  • Direct – He said to me, “What is your name?” Indirect – He asked me what my name was.
